shelter cove

Weekend at Shelter Cove

we spent the weekend out at Shelter Cove. It was a beautiful, sunny and warm weekend. Adam spent the weekend abalone diving and shooting. Fisher and I spent it lounging on the beach. I got to go on a short kayaking adventure that left me soaking in the surf. It was so much fun to do the things I used to do all the time. I felt like I connected with myself again...the self I used to know before I had Fisher. Does that even make sense? Well, it felt good to go out and do the stuff I love to do. Oh, and when we got back to Eureka I noticed that Fisher is sprouting another tooth!!!Font size

Fisher gets his feet wet. He thought the wet sand felt good, but the water was a bit cold for his taste.

This superman is out to save the world...with his dad's help!

Fisher's first tailgate party!

We're on our way to Shelter Cove here. Fisher is wearing his superman outfit that Grandma Hamman got for him. The cape is the best part.

Fun with Fisher

Adam and Fisher took me on a date to that restaurant we all went to after our wedding. He dressed Fisher in a flannel shirt just like him. Aren't my boys handsome?

Our Day at the River

Adam dug a hole and put Fisher in it. He couldn't quite reach his feet (probably because he's fat) so Adam had to help him in the next picture.

Fisher thought it was funny when dad put his feet in his mouth.

Fisher didn't seem to like the ice cold water on his toes. He made some pretty funny noises.

Adam made a make-shift sun tent. Fisher liked watching it blow in the wind. He also enjoyed rolling from his back to his side, then back onto his back again. Apparently he thought this was funny because he kept giggling.

I don't know what we are going to do with out this carseat. It sure makes a great hammock for the Fish.

Two white guys catching those tanning rays. Fisher will come out striped with all those rolls he's got.

Oh my! That sun is bright!

All this sun is making me sleepy.

Adam has the knack of using whatever is around for his convenience. This happened to be one of those moments. Fisher loved it. I think he sat in this basket for a half hour.

From bath and beyond

Fisher loves bath time. The only part he hates is when he has to get out. Then he throws a fit. He seems to really adore his rubber ducky too.

Our little Fisherman caught his first trout with dad at Ruth Lake. It's a beauty! Cute story: a little girl at church saw Adam and Fisher and she tugged on her mom's pants, looked up at her and said, "Mom look, there's Fisherman!"

Fisher helped me garden the other day. He really likes to be outside. He just soaks it all in. He looked so cute in his new sun hat I got from a Recycled youth store for $1.75. He's been making this new face where he sticks out his lower lip and of course blows slobber all over.

For Adam's birthday in March I had been working on a quilt made from our old jeans. I started in January. I wanted it to be a surprise which meant a lot of cleaning up every day! But, he was surprised! I made it especially long because I know he likes long blankets. It turned out to be a little bigger than 6 ft by 9 ft. There are some crooked spots, but for my first quilt I'm pretty impressed. I'm just glad it's over!!! Any way, I had to brag about it.

Fisher went to the doctor on Tuesday. He was so funny waiting in the doctor's office naked. He loves to be naked. He was a happy camper up until the shots. He's been grumpy ever since. Yesterday he rolled from front to back for the first time. He did it twice then when I got the camera out he wouldn't do it again. He hasn't done it since actually. According to his visit on Tuesday, Fisher is 18 lbs and 6 oz. That is the 97th percentile. But his height is only 25 inches which is average. So, we have a short, fat kid!!!

This video is probably a month old but I love the faces Fisher makes in his sleep.

Fisher in his bumbo

First meal in his highchair. It's messy business!

Pillow talk with the Fish.

Fisher with pops.

4 months

Oh how time flies. Fisher is 4 months and has been impressing me with more hand coordination and babble. The last two days he's been laughing and squealing in response to me doing something silly for him. I can't believe he is mine. This little boy came from Adam and me. What a miracle. I've taken Fisher with me to a couple worship practices. He's been totally content to watch and listen and even sings along! Pastor Chuck was sitting next to him and said that he was singing on key! My little Fish is gonna be a worshiper! Next week we will find out how much he's grown. He is huge. He's been wearing 6-9 month clothes and needs 9 month pants. The pants are a little long but fit perfect around his bulbous mid section. I just bought size 4 diapers. They are a tid bit too big but the 3's aren't catching the flying poop up the back anymore. I can only handle so many changes of clothes a day.
