my mom

My sister, mom and I went out to dinner for our "girls night out". My mom specifically chose the place so she could have her cantelope martini because "it tastes just like cantelope!" We had a great time and laughed pretty much the whole time. I don't know what was so funny... except this picture! I love you mom. Cheers!!!

a dancing fish

I babysat at a friends house and she had some great song dvd's. Fisher really enjoys music. Every time I play guitar or a toy plays music or even when i just hum he will dance. As you can see he is standing a lot and has just figured out how to fall on his butt instead of his head.

We went to the fair with our friends and their kids. The boys decided it would be fun to have a stroller race. Of course Fisher won but Jack was trying to cheat by running him over.

Fisher's new moves

Fisher once got the ball stuck behind the door. So he discovered that he could tip the whole thing and make the ball roll out. So now he tips the toy every time even when not necessary.

Fisher's chunky thighs are my favorite. That and the back of his neck.

He is almost crawling. He may just get it down in time for us to go to Girls Week and stay in a house with lots of stairs!

A few moments with a Box. Or a half and hour. He was enthralled with this box for a very long time which was nice for me!

Bands by the Bay

A few weekends ago we had Bands by the Bay. I played with the Centerpointe/Worship Live team. Here are a few of the songs from that that day. I must say that Dave looks especially smooth in his shades. I'm also sorry to say that our bass player is out of the picture..sorry Kurt.

This one is Wait on the Lord...

This one is See His Love and All My Tears...just try to ignore the parts I crack on! I think it's hilarious when I choke up.

Here is The Lord is Good. I think this is the first time I played cowbell, at least one that is mounted. Pay very close attention to the part in the beginning where I missed the cowbell all together. It took some massive concentration to hit that stupid thing. My timing is also a little off with it but I had fun experimenting with new things. More cowbell please!!!

Our last song was Fields of Grace. I think this was the most fun song.

I also played with Chuck and the "59th Street Band" Chuck put a few of those songs on YouTube that you can listen to at http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=59th+street+band&search_type=&aq=f

6 month check up

Fisher went to get his 6 month vaccination shots yesterday. He was all smiles and giggles until the shots. But he only cried for maybe a minute then was fine. So far all is well. It's not like last time when I had a storm on my hands for a full week after the shots. I think last time he was teething too...i just didn't know it yet.

This is him waiting in the waiting room. He was enthralled with all the other kids. He would smile at anyone who came through the door and was attentively observing everything.

He weighed in at 21 lbs 6 oz. He's a hefty soul!

His length was 26 3/4 inches.

His big old noggen was 45 cm. That's in the 75th percentile.

Before his shots Fisher was waiting on the table and thought that the paper made the most excellent noise.

Grunter

Pretty much every time I go to feed Fisher he does this. I'll leave it to you to imagine what he is doing.

Our Great Weekend Outdoors

This memorial day weekend we went camping with our friend Sherry in Fort Bragg. This was Fisher's first camping experience and he did great! I really think he loves the outdoors. I packed way too many clothes for him (I just wasn't sure how much I would need) and we brought his excersaucer for him to be able to have some familiar territory. When we first arrived at our campsite it was pretty late. I think it was about 10:30pm. Fisher had a little panic attack when mom got out of the truck and we started to unpack all our gear. But he slept great and the rest of our days were really fun. Here is our story.

O
n our way
...

We did a lot of "just hangen around". This is how Fisher does it.

We had a great walk on the shoreline....

where we saw some seagulls that I was apparently really into because I took a ton of pictures of them.

We also saw some little ground squirrels or something of that nature. Can you find the squirrel in this photo???

Here he is!!!

And some pretty flowers just sprouting in the midst of the sand dunes.

Fisher really liked being in our tent as you can see by the gargantuan smile he has. Oh, he is to die for!

I really love to sit by a good fire. Not that you can tell by the look on my face in this photo.

Fisher spent a little time chillen by himself on his blanket. I think he just liked chatting with the trees about his wonderful feet he has found.

Grandpa Richard gave Fisher this really cool get-up that is sleeping bag material inside and fleece on the outside. It was perfect for sleeping outdoors. He stayed nice and toasty. He just couldn't move very well which was pretty nice when he went to bed at night. He just kind of laid there staring at the ceiling of the tent, unable to move and get wound up. He fell asleep quite fast and with little fussing.

I couldn't get enough of my little man. He's getting to know me and interact with me. I love it when he looks at me like this.

Adam carried Fisher around in the Kelty kids pack on our adventures. Fisher would stay awake for a while babbling and singing with the birds, but soon he would crash. Poor guy woke up with a huge red mark between his eyes where the seat had rubbed as he bounced up and down to Adam's stride.

As we packed up to leave Fisher played on a tarp. I looked over and he was scrunching it all up cuz he liked the noise it made. Soon, of course, it was in his mouth. He was really quite excited about this. Well, the dirt turned to mud with his slobber and ended up all over his face and hands. He then fell over onto his back as if exhausted, and pulled the corner of the tarp over himself like a blanket.

He thought it wast he perfect place to take a nap.

After we packed up we headed to the waterfall. It was not the "15 minute hike" Adam claimed it to be. But it was still worth the time and hike. Adam did the hard work of hauling our heaviest equipment up...Fisher.

After the waterfall we had some lunch out of our tailgate and headed to glass beach. My friend was "in heaven" with all the seaglass to collect. She's a hoarder like myself :). For some reason my feet look huge in this picture.

We left for home and Fisher slept almost the whole way home. First he shed some tears because he hated to leave behind Our Great Weekend Outdoors.

Fisher's Bath Adventures

I had to have prove that Fisher was really blowing bubbles in the bath like Adam said. So I went in with the camera rolling. I must say that I would probably never have let Fisher even get into this position. It was hard for me to not drop the camera and "save" him from what I thought was a sure drowning. Well, Fisher is still alive and had way more fun with Dad than he ever has with Mom during bath time. The footage is split between the next two movies. The total movies size was too big so I had to chop it up.

Adam Graduated!

He finally did it! We are so proud of him. Adam graduated on Saturday, May 16th.

Adam's getting his fake diploma from the guy in the yellow get-up.

a lounging fish

Adam gave Fisher a bath the other night while I was out. Adam said he just stuck him in there and let him do what he wanted. The pictures you see here are all Fisher. Adam did not move him into these hilarious poses. I love this shot of him. It looks like he is saying, "oh yes, I AM a stud."

Adam said he was actually blowing bubbles in the water.

Gag me

The latest and greatest new skill of Fisher's is sticking his fingers down his throat. He seriously can't get enough of it and continually is doing this much to my dismay. I think once he makes himself puke he'll quit.

Roll Over!!!

This was actually by accident. Fisher was reaching for the cord to the breast pump when he suddenly found himself on his back.

Fisher has finally discovered how to roll over!

This is his roll from back to front which is his most recent accomplishment.

peek a boo

Fisher likes peek a boo. He just started to really laugh. It's the best sound in the world!
I'm loving it.

shelter cove

Weekend at Shelter Cove

we spent the weekend out at Shelter Cove. It was a beautiful, sunny and warm weekend. Adam spent the weekend abalone diving and shooting. Fisher and I spent it lounging on the beach. I got to go on a short kayaking adventure that left me soaking in the surf. It was so much fun to do the things I used to do all the time. I felt like I connected with myself again...the self I used to know before I had Fisher. Does that even make sense? Well, it felt good to go out and do the stuff I love to do. Oh, and when we got back to Eureka I noticed that Fisher is sprouting another tooth!!!Font size

Fisher gets his feet wet. He thought the wet sand felt good, but the water was a bit cold for his taste.

This superman is out to save the world...with his dad's help!

Fisher's first tailgate party!

We're on our way to Shelter Cove here. Fisher is wearing his superman outfit that Grandma Hamman got for him. The cape is the best part.
